Arsenal has been linked with an interest in AFC Bournemouth wide man Ryan Fraser and could table an offer to land him this coming window.
Fraser, 25, has greatly impressed the Premier League side this term, scoring seven goals and creating 11 assists in 36 matches in all competitions.
With the impending departure of Wales international midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Emirates in mind when the season ends, Arsenal will need to fill that space in the final third of the pitch while trying to strengthen the team, especially if they manage to make Champions League spot.
Spanish tactician Unai Emery has a lot of options up front, but the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil all performing well in more central positions.
Emery could as well do with bringing in quality wingers to his team, and Fraser could fit that bill.
As perĀ The Mirror, the Scottish is on the shortlist of Arsenal, and so it remains to be known whether or not he becomes a priority target ahead of next campaign or if Arsenal considers other transfer targets depending on if or not they can seal a Premier League top-four finish this term.
He winger has predominantly been deployed on the left flank this term but can play on the other flank, as well as through the centre, and so his versatility will surely be a key factor that plays in the attacker’s favor.
If the Gunners have plans of pushing on after this campaign and challenging for top honors, a lot more will be required in the team.
It could, however, be argued that they have to spend their cash wisely and considering his lack of experience at the top level, several question marks might be raised over the winger being a suitable investment in the long term for the side.
